This guide compares two Bayt listings associated with YASREF. One small dataset has an average that can be recalculated from its visible entries. The other contains a discrepancy that prevents us from treating its headline average as a reliable salary benchmark.
What is the reported YASREF salary average?
The Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Company listing on Bayt shows four entries with a monthly average of SAR 12,845.
| Reported role | Monthly amount (SAR) |
|---|---|
| Document controller | 9,375 |
| Cost engineer | 10,501 |
| IT system administrator | 14,502 |
| HSE manager | 17,002 |
The calculation is straightforward: 9,375 + 10,501 + 14,502 + 17,002 = 51,380; dividing by four gives 12,845. This confirms that the displayed average matches those four numbers. It does not confirm that the sample represents YASREF’s workforce.
Four entries are too few to establish a company-wide salary level or a pay range for technicians and operations engineers who are not represented in that table. The source also does not give a consistent breakdown of grade, experience, basic pay and allowances.
Why we do not use the SAR 29,077 figure
A second Bayt page labelled YASREF displays an average of SAR 29,077. However, the visible entries reviewed ranged from about SAR 1,312 to SAR 9,375, and the visible row count did not clearly match the page’s stated number of salary details.
The page does not explain that gap. We cannot establish the underlying calculation or whether the grouping includes records with different employment arrangements. We therefore exclude that headline figure from our estimate. This is a limitation of the information available, not proof that every entry is incorrect.
When a salary average cannot be reconciled with the visible data, do not repeat it as an expected offer. Use the closest comparable role as a starting point and verify the actual package with the employer.
How to compare a YASREF offer fairly
Two industrial roles with similar titles may differ in responsibilities, working hours and compensation. Request a written breakdown of the following, where applicable:
- Basic salary: identify it separately from the total figure.
- Fixed allowances: confirm the amount, payment frequency and eligibility.
- Shift or location payments: do not assume they exist simply because the workplace is industrial.
- Variable incentives: establish the conditions and whether the amount is guaranteed.
- Working hours and shifts: compare the actual schedule, including any on-call expectations.
- Insurance and development: ask for the scope of coverage and the training arrangements.
These are questions to ask about an offer, not a list of benefits guaranteed by YASREF. The official YASREF careers section describes employee development and benefits in general terms; it does not provide a numerical salary scale for every role.
Compare roles before comparing companies
If you are weighing opportunities in Yanbu, compare a cost engineer with a similar cost-engineering role, and an IT systems role with comparable responsibilities. Then use the same definition of pay for both offers.
Illustrative example: an IT offer above the published SAR 14,502 entry is not automatically above the market. The offer might include housing and transport while the anonymous entry could use a different definition of salary. The available data cannot settle that question.
Write guaranteed annual cash on one line and conditional incentives on another. Review working hours, location and benefits separately. That produces a more useful comparison than placing two company averages side by side.

What to do with the figures
Use the four internally consistent entries as limited reference points, not promised rates. When an offer arrives, request clear terms for salary, allowances, incentives, benefits and working hours. For current openings, follow the careers links on YASREF’s official website; salary reports do not establish vacancy availability.
